I was using the Thrust plate that came with my rookie package for the last few months. One day, we were doing relay races with the veteran girls. I was only an arms length behind a travel team jammer. I was hellbent on improving to catch her. I read reviews, different plates, what gear to upgrade, etc, etc. I finally decided to do the plate. Everyone talks about the revenge and reactor plate, but I'm in love with this plate.
I had them attached just before a practice and was expecting a poor performance night as I adjusted to the new angle of the wheels and weight of the plate, but I have to say there wasn't much! They felt so good. Some of my skills were a little sloppy, but right off the bat I felt like weaving was easier. My T-Stop suddenly became a loud, screeching perfected stop and simple strides seemed to take me whizzing past the other girls. They felt at home!
These really convinced me that it pays to get good gear. I agree with the other poster. These make me a better skater! I can hop, turn, stop better.
The lock-in toe stop is fabulous(though, I got longstems and they don't go as far in as regular plates) I'm notorious for losing my toestops no matter who cranks on those bad boys for me. These, they are in and no adjustment, no thinking about it. They aren't going anywhere.
The cushions that came with my plate were a pretty fantastic shade of purple. I want to say equivalent to the Magic mediums. I haven't swapped them out. I'm a lighter skater and I can squish them just fine.
My only frownyface with these is that because of the DA-45 plate and the toestop placement, my riedell toeguards don't fit and I had to get some custom leathers to fit on the front of my skate. Not a big deal, just depends on how much protection you want on your skate!
Overall, LOVE these. I don't regret my choice and they set me apart from other skaters.

These plates straight up make me a better skater. I don't care what anyone says about equipment vs. talent - these plates IMMEDIATELY made me a MUCH better skater. The turning power is incredible. It takes a few days to get used to the wheels being lower than on a regular plate, and it took me a few hours to make my cross-overs feel normal again, but that's about it on the downside. They are loooooovely and light. I'm sure I'll upgrade my boots later this year, but these plates and I are in for a long-term relationship.
